Scientific Conference: State and Data

The joint conference of the research center for digitization in state and administration (ePIAF), the law faculty of the University of Basel, the law faculty of the University of Innsbruck, and the Institute for Federalism will focus on legal issues in connection with the state use and provision of data.

The three presentations in the morning are dedicated to the question of the legal requirements and framework conditions under which public administrations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (must) make their databases freely accessible in the interest of the general public in the sense of open government.

The three presentations in the afternoon will focus on the question in which areas and under which conditions the state can rely on legal access rights to data in private hands to fulfill its tasks in the three countries mentioned.

The conference will take place in hybrid form and can be attended both in person and digitally via Zoom.
